Hello everyone !
It’s been a week now that I’m in UPPSALA, a week that I’m starting a new chapter in my life and that I’m slowly adapting to this charming student city.
Who am I?
I’m Lisia, I’m from France and I’m currently doing an internship at Bruised Food Club for 3 months thanks to the Erasmus + programme and Pôle Emploi.
After graduating, I decided that I would spend a year travelling, for an internship, volunteering, meeting people, making myself useful, gaining experience, discovering other cultures… This experience represents a challenge since I will live far away from my usual reference points but also an opportunity to live an enriching experience.
I therefore applied for the international mobility programme of the Pôle Emploi (an organisation in charge of employment in France). It was in this context that I was presented with various schemes, including « ERASMUS+ UN LEVIER POUR L’EMPLOI » (the erasmus+ programm, a leverage for employment), which I applied for and was selected to participate in
The programme is in charge of finding a company/organisation in the host country according to a wish list drawn up by the candidates. I wanted to do an internship in an association, as this is the sector of activity I would like to work in. This is how I was put in contact with the members of BFC, with whom wediscussed my motivations and our common expectations of the internship during an interview.
What I like about BFC,
First of all, the association’s objective, i.e. to contribute to redistributing food instead of wasting it, to allow some people to have access to this vital need regardless of their financial means. I like the fact that we pay what we can because it gives access to people who may not have the financial means to feed themselves. I wanted to share and recognize myself in the cause defended by the organization and it is the case. Moreover, the team is kind and dynamic.
My mission is to participate in different projects that will promote the development of the association such as participating in the organizations events, communication, awareness and certainly many other things. You could also meet me at the market. I hope to see you there 😊
Professionally, I hope to gain a lot of experience, improve my English and learn some words in Swedish. Humanly, I hope to flourish during these 3 months and repeat other experiences abroad.
